Thank you guys for the supporting comments. I probably should have mentioned I already exercise regularly. I ride my bike to classes, I do pilates at home, and I try and get to the gym when I’m not busy. Also the detox part of the diet is the part that’s three weeks. After that I will reintroduce some things like coffee (♥) and lean proteins, but I will still be dieting until I reach my goals. I also take a daily vitamin for women to help keep my nutrients balanced. **
Now, so far I think I have been doing really good. I’ve mostly been eating raw foods, but for dinner last night I had basalmic onions and portabello on top of brown rice. It was pretty tasty. Today for breakfast I had a piece of whole wheat bread with 1 tbs of almond butter and halved grapes on it. Very very tasty rendition of a pbj!
Then I had a big ole salad for lunch, no tomatoes though (boo, I love them). Snack at a couple different times was a teaspoon of spicy hummus and carrots/celery. Dinner I ended up going a bit out of the tracks and had a lean cuisine. Not mean, I had the cheese ravioli. (Only 220 calories and tasted so good so I didn’t feel guilty). Then for my fourth little meal I had wholegrain cereal with like 1/8th of a cup of almond milk and a few cut up strawberries. ( i hate hate hate soggy cereal). I haven’t been able to go to the gym but I have ridden my bike to all my classes (all up hill! ugh) at least the ride home is nice. Today I did just walk to class because I didn’t want to be sweaty. It was 90° here!! I’ve also not had anything to drink but lots and lots of water.
I think as far as the detox it self is going, I’ve been feeling okay. I have definitely had headache’s due to caffeine withdrawal. I was not very nice at work last night, but my coworkers were all really understanding, it was nice. I’ve also noticed myself zoning out in classes. I’m not sure if that’s from the diet, or being bored, or just being tired! Weight wise, I’m not sure if I’ve lost weight as I promised myself I wouldn’t weigh myself more than once a week. I don’t want to obsess like I know I would if I did it every day. I haven’t noticed any bursts of energy. Although I did start classes again this week so that is very draining. In fact I just took a 3 and 1/2 hour nap. It was nice. I’ve also heard that when you go on a detox diet, you tend to break out with zits and such. I haven’t noticed any so far. So that’s a plus.
I think the worst part is being at work. Knowing I can’t have any of our tempting Pumpkin Spice Lattes is so sad! They returned on the day I started! :sigh: Also The food is tempting. Especially when we have some of the breakfast sandwiches left over so I don’t have to buy them. They really do taste good. I don’t usually eat the sausage but I thought the image would be less appealing. It is for the record. What I really miss is the Shale cashews that have vanilla glaze and bits of apple and pomegranate stuck to it. It’s not unhealthy, just not detox friendly. Also coffee. I miss coffee and black tea, which is mostly what I drink.
Classes
School on the other hand has been going well. I’m nervous about my Italian class. Perchè? Perchè non parlate italiano bene, ma noi parliamo englise in classe. In other words, we aren’t allowed to speak English in class. Only Italian. I’m a very bad speaker. I will just need to practice. My other classes are Greek Art and History which is cool because there are a couple girls in there that I’ve had classes with before.
I also have a science class devoted to parts of the respiratory and speaking disorders. That seems a bit intense but we’ll see. And my final class is a senior seminar about the aims and methods of Art History. It’s pretty much where all the seniors get together and shoot the shit with one of the awesome art history professors. I like it. Lots and lots of homework. Lots of tests and exams. Lots of papers. I’m still kinda looking forward to it. (I will regret this statement in 2 months.)
Okay Now I’m gonna go do some comment returnage (e fa molto compiti per italiano.)
